Missions Update: August 2007
Here is the latest from our August 7 IMT meeting.
Krishana Kraft worked with Focus on the Family on their Brio Magazine staff and was involved with youth ministry at Pulpit Rock Church for four years before going to Austria for training with YWAM last year. Part of their training was spending two weeks in Bosnia where they had the opportunity to pass out Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. They also taught English classes to elementary age kids at a community center. After their time in Bosnia they went to Serbia for seven weeks to work with a church youth group. This group had just gotten a ping pong table so Krishana's group helped them start a game night to reach out to other young people. Suza was a nonbeliever that Krishana was drawn to and developed a relationship with. She accepted Christ at a youth conference.
Krishana was accepted by GEM in June to go long term to Austria to create a teen magazine that is culturally relevant. She wants to assist nationals in the endeavor by coming along side them. Her goal is to leave by next summer for a four-year term. She is working part time with a Christian organization called Magazine Trainers International that trains publishers overseas. At the same time she is seeking to raise support for going to Austria.
