Our Family's Feedback

You talked. We listened.

Thank you to those who attended our last Family Meeting. We heard a lot and are still processing it but here are a few things that we clearly heard.

1. Communication is critically important.
You liked having the family meeting and you want to ensure we continue to step up our two-way communication. To that end, we will be scheduling a family meal and meeting at least quarterly, but we had so much fun at the last one that we're going to have another one on April 29.

In addition, we're working on more ways to enhance our electronic communications to facilitate dialogue, not just sending information. We want to continue to invite feedback, thoughts and ideas to the pastors and elders through conversations and emails.

2. Greater awareness of and access to the elders and pastors.
To help facilitate that, we'll have a pastor or elder regularly available after services so you can get to know us a little better.

3. Prayer.
You also said that you all are praying, but we all need to be praying more. We couldn't agree more, and we're very excited about a new churchwide prayer initiative that Jack Rants, our Community Care Pastor is working on.

4. Efforts to bring the church family together and integrate the generations effectively. The service time adjustments helped greatly in that effort, but we need to continue to find ways to connect the generations. We will have the quarterly meal and meeting, but you can be sure we'll have more frequent family gatherings around the dinner table than four times a year. There will be a variety of opportunities to connect our church family beyond Sunday morning in the future.

5. A strong commitment to continuing improving emerging generations by building our children, student, college and young adult ministry. Regarding Children's Ministry: Continue to develop PDCS ministry and maintain a high level of care for children. Regarding Student Ministry: Develop PDCS at the Student Ministry level; ensure students are being discipled; ensure multiple, appropriate opportunities for students to be together, both with and without parents present. Regarding College & Young Adult Ministry: increase our efforts to reach students at UCCS and Colorado College.

6. Confidence in God to lead us as we seek to discern how best to fill the vacancy left by Armin's departure. The elders and pastors are moving forward in that process and we will keep you up to date. There will be more congregational involvement as the process moves forward. Please continue to pray with us.

That doesn't cover everything but these were several of the big themes that emerged. Thanks for partnering with us to pursue the mission God has called us to here at Pulpit Rock Church.
