The Custers’ Last Stand

Hey Pulpit Rock Church family!

Hawaii_picIt is with both great enthusiasm and some sadness that I want to share some news with you. After several wonderful years at Pulpit Rock, my wife, Fiona, and I sense God moving us on from this great place!

I have accepted the call to serve as the Senior Pastor at International Baptist Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. (Aloha!) My family and I will be moving there at the end of January 2016.

Our excitement results from the confidence we have that God is clearly moving us in a new ministry direction. Over the last few years we feel that God has been preparing us for this role. We are excited for the adventure of serving him and his church in a new place!

Our sadness stems from the loss we feel in leaving Pulpit Rock Church, its tremendous staff, the meaningful friendships we have made, and the great community we have been a part of at this church. I believe wholeheartedly that God is going to do amazing things with Pulpit Rock in the coming years. The best is yet to come – and I am sad that I will not be here for it in person.

A piece of our hearts and spirits will always remain at Pulpit Rock. The lessons we learned and the imprint you have left on our lives will stay with us for many years to come! We have been taught so much here.

Custer Family Aug 2015Pulpit Rock Church is the best organization I have ever worked for and has some of the best people I have ever worked with. My resignation is not a result of any unhappiness with Pulpit Rock Church, its staff, or any members of the congregation. You can have confidence in the great team and tremendous elders leading this church!

THANK YOU for allowing me the privilege of serving among you over the last few years. THANK YOU for the grace and love you have shown me and my family.
We love you and will miss you greatly!

Aloha,

Scott Custer (for Fiona and the girls too)
Associate Connections Pastor
