Have you ever wondered why God has given you the skills that you possess? God created you anew in Christ Jesus specifically to do the things He has planned for you to do. Isn’t it exciting to know that we are His masterpiece?
Your helping hands
Believe it or not, God made you to serve. He has gifted you with everything you need to do His work right now in the Body of Christ here at Pulpit Rock Church. How can this be?
You have skills! Perhaps you’re a handyman or you like to paint, clean, do yard maintenance or fix cars. Maybe you enjoy grocery shopping, cooking, or writing letters. Can you troubleshoot computers? Maybe you're blessed with the time to run errands for others. Whatever your gifting or talent, God has the job for you! He planned it for you long ago.
There are people at PRC and in our community who desperately need your help. By serving them, they will see the love of God in a very real way.
Connecting needs with people
The fact that people can help other people in ordinary ways isn't a new idea. There are actually many people already ministering to others through serving everyday.
However, there are many needs that are not being met simply because the need is not being communicated to the people who have the skills and time to meet those needs.
The Helping Hands ministry creates an avenue that matches the needs of an individual to the skills of someone capable of helping.
Forming apprentices
Another facet of Helping Hands is matching unskilled workers with skilled workers in an apprenticeship-type relationship. This gives those who have the desire to do service projects, but do not possess the skills, an opportunity to participate and to learn new things while serving the Body.

“What good is it dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, ‘Goodbye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well’ – but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” James 2:14-17
