<p><b><u>At Home Ideas</u>:</b> </p>

<p><strong>Gather Manna</strong><br />
Spread a large, clean sheet or blanket on the floor and scatter popcorn on it. Let your child collect the “manna” as a treat. Remind them that God’s people had to gather the manna every day to eat.</p>

<p><strong>Taste Test</strong><br />
You will need a variety of foods for your child to taste, i.e. sweet foods, salty foods, and sour foods. <br />
Talk with your child about the wonderful variety of foods God has given us. Allow them to taste test different foods one at a time. What are their favorites? Least favorites? Remember to thank God for all foods!<br />

Use play dough to create pyramids like the one’s God’s people would have seen before they left Egypt. Talk about how they left the land of the pyramids to travel a long way to a new land that God promised to them.<br />

You will need: lightweight cardboard or card stock, glue, colored sand, shallow bowls, spoons, newspaper, markers</p>

<p>Write on the paper in large print, “Jesus is Alive!” Pour colored sand into shallow bowls and cover the table with newspaper. Give your child the piece of paper you wrote on previously and with the glue show them how to trace over the letters. Let your child use a spoon to sprinkle colored sand over the letters and let stand for a few minutes. Shake the excess off the paper back into the bowls if possible.<br />

<p><strong>Making Bricks</strong><br />
You will need these ingredients to make Sand Clay:<br />
 1 1/4c. flour<br />
 1 c. cornstarch<br />
 1 c. salt<br />
 1 c. water<br />
 ½ c. fine sand<br />
 (straw)<br />
Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Slowly add the water, stirring as you pour. Mix the clay until it can be kneaded without being too sticky. Let your child mix straw into the sand clay and form it into brick shapes on pieces of waxed paper. Let them dry overnight. </p>

<p>Talk with your child about what God’s people had to do as slaves in Egypt, how God showed His power to Pharaoh, and how God’s power can help them.</p>

<p><strong>Frogs and Grasshoppers</strong><br />
For the brave parent! Pick up some grasshoppers or crickets at your local pet store. Let your child gently touch them. Talk about what it would have been like to have grasshoppers everywhere, like in your bed, or in your food, or in your living room.</p>]]>
