Big Idea: God blessed Abraham because he trusted God to take care of him.

At Home Ideas:
Serve it Up
You need: play food and dishes or real food
Have your child take turns serving themselves and you with food. Then each person helps to clear the dirty dishes and leftover food. Talk about:
-Why did the Lord bless Abraham with many animals?
-What did Abraham’s workers and Lot’s workers argue about?
-Who took the first choice of the land?
-What did the Lord promise to do for Abraham?
Big Idea: Abraham trusted God to guide him and to bless him.

At Home Ideas:
Table Tent
You need: a table and a sheet
Spread the sheet over a table to form a tent. Have your child pretend to be Abraham and all the people who went with him. Have them remove the sheet, fold it, and take it to another table and set up again.
Altar Snack
Serve broken graham cracker pieces. Have your child stack them up into an altar. Remind them that Abraham made an altar to thank God for his new home.
-Where did Abraham and Sarah live?
-What did God want Abraham to do?
-Did Abraham do what God wanted him to do?
-What did Abraham do when he got to the new land?
