October 28 – The Rainbow: God Keeps Noah Safe

Big Idea: Rainbows are reminders of God’s promise to never again send a big flood.

Story Scripture: Genesis 7:17-9:19

Bible Verse: “Rainbows remind us of God’s promises.” Genesis 9:16

At Home Ideas:

Round Rainbows
You need: round coffee filters, markers in a variety of colors, tape, spray bottle filled with water
Give your child a filter and spread it flat on a table. Let them choose 4 different colored markers. Tape the four markers together side by side, with points even. Have your child draw a rainbow shape in the center of the filter with the markers. Have them spray water on their rainbows and watch the colors spread together to form a beautiful rainbow. Remind them that God made the first rainbow.

It Won’t Break
You need: items that will not break easily, such as rocks, metal items and hard plastic items
Set out the objects. Ask your child if these things can break. Give them a chance to try to break them with their hands. Remind them that God’s promises are unbreakable.
