May 6 – Philip Tells a Prince about Jesus

Building on Last Week: The Lord used Ananias and Philip in the conversion of Saul and the Ethiopian. You, too, have the great privilege of introducing your children to the Lord through His Word.

Story Scripture: Acts 8:5-6, 26-38

Bible Verse: “Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 4:15

At Home Ideas:

Crowns, Crowns
You can make a crown snack for your child. Take a piece of bread and cut into shape of a crown. Dab a different color of jam on each point to look like jewels.
You can also create a crown from construction paper and decorate it with markers, and stick on jewelry.

Partner Races
Philip and the prince became partners as Philip helped the prince learn about Jesus. You can do a partner race with your child (or two children together) to remind them of how these two men shared God’s Word together.
Have pairs link arms and do a race-walk to a set point and back. Next have them walk down back-to-back. Then they can link arms and walk backward as a pair. Add other variations of your own choosing.

April 29 – Saul Learns that Jesus is God’s Son

Building on Last Week: After Christ finished His earthly ministry, it was time to build His church, and Paul (Saul) would play a key role in this great work.

Story Scripture: Acts 9:1-9, 17-20

Bible Verse: “Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 4:15

At Home Ideas:

Missionary Foods
Serve a variety of foods that may have been eaten in Paul’s day such as: grapes (cut lengthwise), dates, olives, matzo crackers, kiwifruit, starfruit, different cheeses, etc.

Saul Mask
Cut out a 6” semicircle from black construction paper. Glue a craft stick onto one side and 2 craft eyes on the other side to create a mask. They can pretend to be “blind” by playing games with you and see how difficult it would be to not be able to see.

Dear Jesus cares for the little birds (Flap arms)
And the flowers too. (Crouch down, then stand and “bloom” as flowers.)

April 8 –Jesus is Alive

Building on Last Week: Many people witnessed Christ’s triumphal entry, but only a faithful few witnessed the empty tomb. It just goes to show that fanfare is no indicator of an event’s importance.

Story Scripture: Matthew 28:8; Mark 15:25,37,46; Luke 24: 1-9

Bible Verse: “Christ has indeed been raised from the dead.”
1 Corinthians 15:20

At Home Ideas:

Lily Petals Snack
Take thinly sliced bread and spread with cream cheese and sprinkled with yellow sprinkles in the center. You could cut out the petals if you like.

Handprint Easter Lily
Trace your child’s hand (fingers spread) on a piece of paper. Cut out the hand tracing and curl each finger around a pencil. Wrap the base of the hand around a 6” piece of green chenille wire for the stem and tape securely in place.
