November 18/19 – Jesus Feeds Hungry People

Building on Last Week: Deliverance from bondage, a place for worship, and the Lord’s gracious provision for our needs are among the many reasons to give thanks.

Story Scripture: Mark 6:30-44; John 6:1-13

Bible Verse: “I will give you thanks.” Psalm 35:18

At Home Ideas:

Bread and Fish
You will need: play-do ,bread dough, or slices of bread; cookie cutters
Let your child shape dough and cut into bread and fish shapes (5 bread, 2 fish). For pretend play use the play-do. Or, let your child use bread dough to bake or cut out pieces from slices of bread. Retell the story as your child works.

Food Baskets
You will need: construction paper; glue stick; crayons; cut out of a basket, loaf of bread (5), and fish (2)
Give your child the cut out pieces and the construction paper. Glue the outside edges of the basket onto the paper leaving the top open. Color the basket, loaves and fish. Then count out loud together as you put the loaves and fish into the basket.
How many loaves of bread are in the basket: How many fish? Jesus has power to give us what we need. Thanks Jesus for what He gives us.
