September 9/10 –God Sends Food to Elijah
Building on Last Week: God protected Moses by placing him in a palace. God protected Elijah by sustaining him near a stream. God’s care comes in many forms, and it is as sure as His Word.
Story Scripture: 1 Kings 17:1-6
Bible Verse: “He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
At Home Ideas:
Birds on a Line Game
You will need: paper plates- any size or paper circles
Yarn
Tape
Wadded paper
Have your child draw a bird face on a plate or circle. Hang a long piece of yarn between two chairs, several feet apart. Tape the birds to the yarn. Let your child wad up paper into balls and gently toss them toward the birds. Each time a bird is hit, have your child say the bible verse—1 Peter 5:7
Flying Birds
You will need:
small cardboard tube
Crayons, tape
Yarn, paper coffee filter
Have your child color a tube black. Show how to fold a coffee filter in half, then tape the filter to the back of a tube for wings, flat edge towards the head of the bird. Tape a length of yarn to the front of the bird. Let your child practice flying their bird to Elijah.
