September 23/24– God Protects the Boy Joash
Building on Last Week: Last week we saw that God protected a family by providing oil. This week we’ll see that He protected a nation by providing a better ruler.
Story Scripture: 2 Kings 11:1-12; 2 Chronicles 22:10-23:11
Bible Verse: “He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
At Home Ideas:
Royal Jewelry
You will need: plastic milk jug; small plastic container lid; construction paper; scissors; yarn; tape; markers
Let your child use their imagination to make jewelry to dress like a king or queen. Bracelet: Cut a plastic strip from the side of the milk jug. Color with markers. Tape onto wrist. Rings: Cut small, narrow strips from the milk jug handle for rings. Let them decorate it. Pendants: Use an entire plastic lid-decorate and tape yarn to hang around neck. Arm Band: Cut stips 4”x8” from construction paper. Fold in half (2” wide) for sturdiness. Decorate and tape around arm.
Crown of Compassion
You will need:
3”x22” strip of construction paper
Gel markers/markers
Metallic paper
Stickers
Stick-on jewelry (jewels)
Glue, stapler, scissors
