September 2/3- God Takes Care of Baby Moses

Building on Last Week: The last unit was about God’s people obeying His Word. This unit shows that God takes care of those who are obedient to Him.

Story Scripture: Exodus 1:7-2:10

Bible Verse: “He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

At Home Ideas:

My Family Place Mat
You will need:
construction paper-1 piece/child
Permanent marker
Picture/s of your family or pictures taken of families from magazines
Glue
Clear contact paper
Print “My Family Loves Me” on the construction paper at the top. Cut contact paper into 13”x10” pieces (you will need 2). Let your child color their paper and glue pictures onto the paper. Cover both sides with contact paper.

God Keeps Baby Moses Safe
You will need:
1 small paper plate/child
30” piece of yarn
green tissue paper
wooden clothespin
4” cloth square
crayons, markers
hole punch, scissors

Put green tissue paper through a paper shredder if you have one or cut into thin strips to make grass. Cut the paper plates in half, hold the rims together and use the hole punch to make holes around the rim. (For younger children—you may staple edges together instead.) Give your child the paper plate halves and let them color the outsides brown. Help them line up the holes and sew around the edges with the yarn to make the basket. Let them drizzle glue on the insides of the basket and stuff them with shredded green tissue paper. Use a fine-tip marker to draw a simple face on the head of the clothespin. Wrap the clothespin in the cloth square and glue the ends together. Then place “baby Moses” in his basket.
