July 29/30 – Samuel makes David King
Building on Last Week: The last unit emphasized following God’s ways. There is only one way to do that—obey His Word, as Samuel did.

At Home Ideas:
Obey Game
Explain to your child(ren) that you are going to play a simple game where you command and they obey. Lead them through various commands and when you’re done talk about how the game was fun because everyone obeyed the rules—obeying can be fun!
Ways to Obey
Prepare visuals that illustrate ways to obey God’s Word. On the outside of a folded piece of paper draw a Bible shape and print, “We learn to obey God’s Word”. On the inside, draw or glue a picture of a situation in which a child is obeying (praying, picking up toys, singing, sharing, etc.). Include a Bible verse with each situation. You could do one of these a night or one a week and have your child begin to memorize the scriptures.
