July 1/2 --Stories of Jesus’ Power

Building on the Last Week: Clearly, Jesus’ power over diseases, disabilities, and the very forces of nature testifies to the truth of His words and validates His claims on our lives.

Story Scripture: Review of Lessons 1-4

Bible Verse: “The Lord is my helper.” Hebrews 13:6

At Home Ideas:

Plant a Seed
Help your child plant something that is easy to grow. As it grows you can point out to your child that it is Jesus who has provided everything necessary for the plant to grow and without Jesus nothing would grow.

Helping Others
Help your child think of the many different ways they can help others. They can give an offering for those maybe far away, they can send a get-well card, share a toy with a friend, there are many things your child can do to be a helper and a friend just like Jesus is to us. Put one of these ideas into practice!

June 24/25– Jesus Heals a Deaf Man

Building on Last Week: From quieting the storm to letting a deaf man hear and speak, the Lord displayed His power as the Son of God again and again.

Story Scripture: Mark 7:31-37

Bible Verse: “The Lord is my helper.” Hebrews 13:6

At Home Ideas:

Sign Language
Even young children can learn sign language and this would be a great time for you to spend together. You could probably pick up a book and learn some simple signing or look into a local class. Your child would love to learn how to “sing” a song like “Jesus Loves Me” in sign.

Can You Hear Me Now?
Play a game with your child and see how many different sounds they can identify. Then, try playing a listening game like “Mommy” Says.

June 17/18 – Jesus Stops the Storm

Building on Last Week: Your child will continue to see the awesome power of our Lord. Whether controlling fish or calming the sea, nothing is too hard for Him.

Story Scripture: Mark 4:35-41

Bible Verse: “The Lord is my helper.” Hebrews 13:6

At Home Ideas:

Don’t Rock the Boat
Set up some chairs in the shape of a boat and you and your child(ren) get in the middle. Pretend there are big waves and wind. But, remember who is strong enough to stop the storm—Jesus!

Father’s Day
Don’t forget Dad! Help your child make or choose a gift for Dad this Father’s Day.

Night Sky
The next time there is a storm outside with lightning and thunder talk with your child about who is strong enough to cause the storm and who is the only one who is strong enough to stop it too. That’s how strong and mighty our Jesus is! He will always be there to help us.

June 10/11 –Jesus Helps the Fishermen

Building on Last Week: Christ healed the nobleman’s son, and a whole household believed. Christ brought in a great catch of fish, and His first disciples believed.

Story Scripture: Luke 5:1-11

Bible Verse: “The Lord is my helper.” Hebrews 13:6

At Home Ideas:

Gone Fishin’
Take your child fishing! Great time to talk about Jesus and His disciples and how Jesus helped them catch fish.

Big Helper
What things are hard for your child to do? Help then understand that Jesus will always be there to help them. Even if they can’t do something now because it’s too hard, Jesus provided moms and dads and older siblings to help them. Practice some of these things, like tying shoes, putting on a shirt or cutting with scissors. If it’s too hard, offer to help them just like Jesus helps us.
