May 13/14 – Jesus is Kind to a Blind Man
Building on Last Week: Jesus was truly glorious during His transfiguration, but He was no less glorious when He made the blind man see. The radiant glory the disciples saw on the mount comes from the very heart of Christ, as seen by His love of others.
Story Scripture: Luke 18:35-43
Bible Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” Ephesians 4:32
At Home Ideas:
What is it like to be Blind?
If your child won’t be afraid being blindfolded, you could try this experiment. Tie a blindfold around child’s eyes and help them feel their way around a familiar room. Give them familiar items to touch and feel and try and guess what they are. Another idea to try if they are reluctant to just put on a blindfold, would be to play “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” or similar game. They could still get some of the same effects. Talk about how difficult it is to not be able to see and tie it into the story for the week.
Just for Dad’s
Dad’s, this Sunday is Mother’s Day! Why not help your child make a Mother’s Day gift? It could be a card, a paper flower, or breakfast in bed. Mom will appreciate anything your child comes up with!
