May20/21 – Mary is Kind to Jesus

Building on Last Week: All believers are the Lord’s children, whom He has received so warmly and lovingly. How can there be any other response than sacrificial giving from a heart overflowing with love for Him?

Story Scripture: Matthew 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9; John 12:1-8

Bible Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another.” Ephesians 4:32

At Home Ideas:

Bible-Time Sandals
You can help show your child how dirty people’s feet would become in Jesus’ time by making sandals. You could trace a simple pattern onto cardboard or an old carpet piece and cut it out. Then punch out several holes and string ribbon, leather, or shoelaces through the holes for your child to wear. Explain to your child that this is why washing the feet was so important and a kindness in Jesus’ day.

Lounging Around
In Jesus’ time, people ate sitting on the floor around a low table. Try having a snack or lunch sitting on the floor with your child and see what they think. You could serve the same types of food that Jesus may have eaten. You may even want to practice the kindness of washing feet first!
