New Ministry Team Members

Our very own Kathy Egeler is leaving for bigger and better things, but she is staying on in a volunteer basis in the clubhouse and, because she can't resist those little ones, as a storyteller in the preschool. We will miss her, but the preschool is staying in good hands with Melissa Haas, who has been working under her.

Replacing Melissa is Kjersti Hedges. Hailing from Norway where they don't pronounce anything like we do, she says her name sounds like Shashty, but she'll answer to "Hey, good looking Norway gal!" She has two kids and a great husband and they have been attending PRC for a number of years.

Also joining the Children's ministry team is, get this, another one of those Thompson girls! We have Sarah, we have Caitlin, and now we have the next up-and-comer, Molly Thompson who has been attending with her whole family here for two years. She's cute, single and loves working with Cubbies. She will now be the Assistant Commander for AWANA.

Welcome, Ladies!

It’s Promotion Sunday!

Promotion Sunday was Labor Day Weekend (September 2). This means that all the children moved into their new classrooms. If you have not registered your children already, then go to the Children’s Ministry Registration desk upstairs by the church office before you take your children to their class.

New members of the Children’s Ministry Team

Jeanne Snow, a valuable member of the Children’s Ministry Team, is stepping down and her shoes were so big, two people were needed to replace her.

Ericka Meyer is the new Kid’s Clubhouse Small Group Ministry Leader. She also serves as the AWANA secretary, so she is not new to the Children’s Ministry Team. She and her husband, Jimmy, have two boys. She has already proven she is reliable, pays attention to detail, and has great relational skills. She will be an excellent leader and she and Sandy will make a great team!

Shelley Lugauer is the new Children’s Ministry Communications Director. She will be creating eKidz every month and will ensure that Children’s Ministry information is correct both on the web and in print. Shelley and her husband, Paul, have two children. They are active in the Ascent community, and Shelley does the Ascent newsletter. She also has a dramatic side, which she feeds by helping with the drama team in the Tribe. She is a welcome addition to Children’s Ministry.

New staff openings

All the ministry leaders are pleased to report that every area of the Children’s Ministry program has done very well in the new transition from Saturday night to Sunday services. As a matter of fact, we have seen 14 new families register their children into the Sunday School programs.

Services Times & Schedule Changes

This past weekend in all church services, a change was announced that will affect many of us as we serve in Children’s Ministry. We will be consolidating church services and re-grouping as a family as we move into a new season of ministry. We are excited! This will provide us the opportunity to come together as a family, maximize our resources, and embrace the intergenerational component of Pulpit Rock Church.

Beginning the weekend of March 4, we will have two service times, utilizing both buildings, for a total of four services. The Saturday night and 8:30 a.m. Sunday services are being folded into the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services. During the same times, specialty services will be meeting in the West Campus--Tribe at 9:00 a.m. and “the 605” at 10:45 a.m.
