Socks for Tots

Socks for Tots is a sock drive in cooperation with Crossfire Ministries, LifeNetwork, and the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center to benefit young children. The kids in our 2-year old class are starting to learn how God loves people and how He wants us to do the same.

This is an opportunity for them to give a gift that they understand. Classes will wrap the socks before they are donated to the partner ministries. Drop off NEW socks (infant/toddler, all sizes) at the Nursery or in the collection bin in the upper hallway through February.

Preschool Food Drive

Did you know that right after Christmas, food donations generally decline? Let's help build up those food stores for the needy in our own community! We invite anyone from PRC to help us reach those in need.

The Preschool will be collecting non-perishable food donations and toiletry items to benefit Northern Churches Care during the month of February. NCC helps many people each month with rent, utilities, emergency food, clothing, etc. A collection box at the east upstairs entrance will be available to drop off your donations.

Questions? Melissa Haas, Preschool Director at 598-6767 x. 315 or via email.

An Extraordinarily Ordinary Hero arrives at Kids Clubhouse!

Listen to what children are saying...
"He's funny. I feel like I could tell people about Jesus." Amy age 8
"He taught me about missionaries. It's cool that they're there. I think I would like to be one in India." Mark, age 8
"Captain Ordinary has inspired me to help friends if they lose something or get hurt. He also taught me how interesting it is that missionaries went to so many different countries." Bethany, age 9

Read Captain Ordinary's story in The Front Porch this month!

Special event for February: Secret Clubbers--Members get a name of someone to pray for or do special things for like sending cards.

Things to do around town

Did you know Compassion International headquarters is in Colorado Springs? One way to learn more about Compassion is to take a building tour. The 1-hour tours are offered Mon. - Fri. at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A tour especially for children is also available (call ahead at 487-7000).

If you go, be sure to mention that Adam Yost (member and parent at PRC) sent you; he could win a prize and might share it with you! The Compassion website has two short videos that explain a little more about each tour.
