New Ministry Team Members

Our very own Kathy Egeler is leaving for bigger and better things, but she is staying on in a volunteer basis in the clubhouse and, because she can't resist those little ones, as a storyteller in the preschool. We will miss her, but the preschool is staying in good hands with Melissa Haas, who has been working under her.

Replacing Melissa is Kjersti Hedges. Hailing from Norway where they don't pronounce anything like we do, she says her name sounds like Shashty, but she'll answer to "Hey, good looking Norway gal!" She has two kids and a great husband and they have been attending PRC for a number of years.

Also joining the Children's ministry team is, get this, another one of those Thompson girls! We have Sarah, we have Caitlin, and now we have the next up-and-comer, Molly Thompson who has been attending with her whole family here for two years. She's cute, single and loves working with Cubbies. She will now be the Assistant Commander for AWANA.

Welcome, Ladies!

What kids say about. . .

As the children were all spending their last Sunday in their classrooms before moving up to a new room, I decided to conduct a serious poll on what they learned. So, as I toured around, I asked them, "What did you learn about God this last year in Sunday School?"

"I like to pray with Him all the time." Jacob age 3-1/2

"He keeps me safe." Mateo 2-1/2

“God’s in heaven. He made all the animals. I don’t remember all of it.” William, age 6

“God likes when you are sharing your toys and your bedroom.” Joseph, age 4

"I learned about butterflies. God is making them all the time, even now. He made them because I like them. I thank God for butterflies because they're so beautiful." Bethany age 4.

“God is cool because he can do lots of things we can’t.” Rebecca, age 5

“God loves us.” Kirsten, age 5

“God created bugs to help the planet.” Matthew, age 10

“I learned about being nice to other people.” Madison, age 4

“I learned to sing about God. I don’t know how to read yet.” Nathaniel, age 4

“Jesus died on the cross. God wanted him to. To make our sins go away.” Kim, age 4

“This last year has been mostly memory or review. Mostly we learned what we already knew. I liked learning the Bible verses.” Austin, age 10

We sure have fun with our families and friends each year at our Annual Harvest Party Celebration! It's our church-wide party which only happens when all of us jump in and get our hands dirty (or our faces painted)! Hurry and get your group signed up for our Room Contest (to get your room choice). Or volunteer individually or as a team in lots of ways! It's our party, so come play with us! Contact Sarah Andrews at 598-6767 x. 124 or sandrews@pulpitrock.com.

It’s Promotion Sunday!

Promotion Sunday was Labor Day Weekend (September 2). This means that all the children moved into their new classrooms. If you have not registered your children already, then go to the Children’s Ministry Registration desk upstairs by the church office before you take your children to their class.

We ask all parents to re-register your children for ALL Children’s Ministry Classes (Nursery, Preschool, Kids’ Clubhouse and AWANA) each fall to help us keep our records updated and also to give you the opportunity to choose where you would like to serve in Children’s Ministries for the coming year. Thank you for serving in Children’s Ministries at Pulpit Rock Church. You are a part of leaving a legacy of faith for your child and for over 500 children who attend Children’s Ministries Classes.
