Services Times & Schedule Changes

This past weekend in all church services, a change was announced that will affect many of us as we serve in Children’s Ministry. We will be consolidating church services and re-grouping as a family as we move into a new season of ministry. We are excited! This will provide us the opportunity to come together as a family, maximize our resources, and embrace the intergenerational component of Pulpit Rock Church.

Beginning the weekend of March 4, we will have two service times, utilizing both buildings, for a total of four services. The Saturday night and 8:30 a.m. Sunday services are being folded into the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services. During the same times, specialty services will be meeting in the West Campus--Tribe at 9:00 a.m. and “the 605” at 10:45 a.m.

We recognize that this may affect the time families choose to go to a worship service and the time they choose to serve in Children’s Ministry. The Children’s Ministry Leadership Team is committed to working with our ministry partners to find a schedule that works for all of us.

If you are scheduled at a time that no longer works for you, please contact your Ministry Leader and let her know your preferences. (Thank you for your willingness to flex for a time, as we work out the glitches.)

Preschool: Melissa Haas
Kids Clubhouse: Jeanne Snow

For more information on the upcoming changes, check the PRC Weblog later this week.

White Photo IDs

Why do I need it and how do I get one?

The White Photo ID that is seen on so many of our ministry partners is an important piece of the safety equation at Pulpit Rock. It means that we have verified to the best of our ability that the person has passed the safety checks put in place by Children’s Ministry. When someone volunteers to serve in Children’s Ministry, they are asked to fill out an application including references. A criminal background check and follow-up with references is completed by a staff member.

When a White Photo ID is issued, that signifies that the ministry partner has passed. We also have yellow ministry partner tags for those who have not yet finished the process and for the teens who serve. The White Photo ID is required for anyone who escorts children to the bathroom or would be alone with children.

The primary concern of Children’s Ministry Support Services is the safety of the children so they can learn and have fun while they are here at Pulpit Rock.

A Poem for Parents

Mary had a little cold
That would not stay at home
And everywhere that Mary went
The cold was sure to roam.

It wandered into Molly’s eyes
And filled them full of tears.
It jumped from there to Bobby’s nose
And then to Jimmy’s ears.

It painted Anna’s throat bright red
And swelled poor Jenny’s head.
Jane had a fever,
And a cough put Jack to bed.

The moral of this little tale
Is very quickly said:
Mary could have saved a lot of pain
With just one day in bed.

Parents: This “one day in bed” could be a Sunday for your son or daughter. Even if you are scheduled to serve, we would rather you stayed home if you or your child is ill. Thank you for considering the other families!

Kids Clubhouse Welcomes India Children’s Choir

The India Children’s Choir was our guest in Kid’s Clubhouse for two weeks in January. It was so fun to include them in our Clubhouse activities and get to know them. We were learning about missions in “Operation Global Glory” and were thrilled to be visited by missionary children who were bringing the message of the gospel to us!

They had only recently left their families in India to travel and perform in the United States for several months. Many of our families were privileged to host them in their homes as they began their missionary journey. A highlight was when they were given a crash course in puppetry by our award winning puppet team, Puppets Reaching Children. New friends are always welcome!
