Tips for High Impact Recruitment Messages

If you would like to improve the effectiveness of your recruiting message, whether it is in the bulletin, another published ad location or a spoken recruiting effort, you will have more success if you check your message against the following 10 questions before going public.

  1. Is my message communicating to the intended audience?
  2. Am I thinking like the "fish" I am trying to catch?
  3. Does the message communicate the benefits, values, and assets of the ministry?
  4. Does the message adequately anticipate the fears, doubts, and objections of prospects?
  5. Is this a compelling ministry message or just an announcement?
  6. Is it truthful? Or is it a bait and switch?
  7. Does it invite people to consider a ministry opportunity?
  8. Does it communicate that safe exploration is possible?
  9. Does the message tell the prospect what to do next?
  10. Does the message address the specific step the prospect can take right now?
