Jay Butler, Chairman (Governing Board)

Jay came to know the Lord in 1970 while a student at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. He has been a member of Pulpit Rock Church since 1981, during which time he has taught a number of adult classes including the Single Parents Ministry, Seekers Forum and the New Members Class. He has two adult children, Patrick and Christi-Marie, and currently serves as U.S. Director for Greater Europe Mission.

George Brown, Vice Chairman (Governing Board)

George and his wife Cathy have been at Pulpit Rock since 1994. They have been married over 20 years and have three teenage children -- Christopher, Michelle, and David. George serves as Sr. Vice President of VisionQuest Alliance, a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to assist ministries in becoming more effective through shared services, systems and resources.

Jim Wade

Jim Wade is one of our "home-grown" elders. A regular, but skeptical visitor at Temple Baptist Church (PRC's predecessor) beginning in 1977, Jim was led to salvation through the ministers of this body and was one of the early “baptizees” in our present building. He and Mary Sue have been married for 25 years and have two children, Kelley and Matthew. They also have two grandchildren.

Ed Flanagan (Governing Board)

Ed and his family have been members of the church since 1991 when they moved here from Los Angeles with Focus on the Family. Ed and Dena have been married since 1976 and they have two grown children, Christine and Ken. Ed and Dena are owners of Manitou Motion Picture Company, Ltd., a film & television production company. Dena is active on the Worship Arts Team, and Ed has been involved with Men's Ministries at Pulpit Rock Church.

Mark Stephens (Governing Board)

Mark has been a member since 1973 while he was a young student. In 1981, he served in the leadership of the College & Careers class until he was married in 1986. He and his wife then helped start a newlywed class that is now the Growing Families Community. Beth is a full-time mom of their four children: Wendy, Katie, Scotty, and Jonathan. Mark is a project manager at BCSi. He graduated from UCCS with an MS in Electrical Engineering.

Tom Couzens

Tom came into this world in 1928 (same year as Mickey Mouse), came to Christ in 1973 (at age 45), and came to Colorado Springs and Pulpit Rock in 1992. Husband of one (Lisa for over 50 years), father of two, grandfather of ten. A retired mining engineer, he became a Care Elder in 1995 and enjoys meeting and encouraging others, particularly through prayer and Bible study, and ministering to younger people, the sick, and the disabled.

Ken Krause

Ken and Sherry have been at Temple Baptist/Pulpit Rock for 30 years. Originally a Governing Elder in the 70s and 80s, Ken’s Spiritual Gifts line up well with being a Care Elder. Ken came to Colorado Springs to teach at the AF Academy, and now he works as a Defense contractor. Ken and Sherry have three adult children, Kristi, Bryan and Julie. The delight of their lives is their 17 grandchildren.

Dave Lorenc

Dave has been married for 33 years to Donna, who is a counselor at Pulpit Rock. They have two adult children, Chad and Toby, and three wonderful grandchildren. Dave accepted Christ at the age of seven. Since joining PRC, he's been involved in teaching a 6th grade boys' Sunday School class, co-leading a Single Parents class, serving as a Governing and Care Elder, and leading Small Groups for young marrieds.

LeRoy Ubben

LeRoy and Louise came to Temple Baptist/Pulpit Rock in 1957. LeRoy served on the Elder Board in the 60's, 70's, and 80's and has served as a Care Elder since 1994. He and Louise have both been involved in teaching Sunday school, choir, men's and women's ministries and more. They have been married over 55 years and enjoy their three children, Arlyn, Garry, and Vicki, nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

Larry Amundson

Larry is married to Ellen and they have four adult children, John Mark, Linne, Laura and Jessica. Larry and Ellen are on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ and have attended Pulpit Rock since 1983 when they moved here to give leadership to Athletes in Action International, (the athletic ministry of CCC).

David White (Governing Board)

David has a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.Div. from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and a J.D. from University of Kansas School of Law. He and his wife Brenda have two children, Sarah and Eric. They have been attending Pulpit Rock since 1999. David enjoys golf, reading, and camping.

Bob Lovvorn (Governing Board)

Bob and Betty met Christ while Bob was attending Army flight school in 1964 through an Officer's Christian Fellowship Bible Study. He resigned his commission in 1967 and joined the staff of the Navigators in 1969. They have been involved in community, military, and collegiate ministries. They have three married children and five grandchildren and have attended PRC since 1999. They both enjoy playing golf, and Bob enjoys playing racquetball.
